ECHS BBall Family,
Welcome back to the school year!
While basketball season does not officially begin until the first week of November, we will be busy throughout the fall preparing the boys for the season. That will include some open gym play a few mornings a week, some after school weight room days, and a Saturday fall league for those interested. ALL OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE OPTIONAL, and athletes playing a fall sport should prioritize those schedules. Please honor your commitments!
OPEN RUNS
We will hold two open gym sessions per week, before school. For the first few weeks of school, those will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 615-745am. We stop around that time so the boys have time to shower up and make themselves presentable before their first period class (please do so, so that our teaching staff does not begin to resent our basketball program due to stinky boys in their classes!). These sessions will primarily just be scrimmaging, to give the boys a chance to develop some on-the-court chemistry. Please eat breakfast before you come and bring water!
WEIGHT ROOM
We plan on having 2-3 weight room sessions per week, after school, starting around 345pm in the weight room above the basketball court. We are lucky to have hired a full time strength and conditioning coach, Coach Zach Poston, who will be developing a program for our athletes. The days are subject to change, but look like they will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
FALL LEAGUE
We will, once again, participate in the Del Lago Fall League beginning mid September. We will run a JV and Varsity team in this league, which plays its games on Saturdays from mid September to late October. I will be in touch about sign ups, rosters, and fees once we get a bit further down the line.
