ECHS Basketball Family,
Welcome to the first official week of our crazy 2020-21 Basketball season!
This is an extremely long email with a ton of info, so buckle up.
This week is very, very important for us, as our first games are a week away. We have to be ready to learn. I could not possibly be more excited about our group this year.
Before I get to the calendar, let's discuss some logistics.
Game schedule
The game schedule for the season is available on this site. These are subject to change, and some of the game times are still TBD (waiting to hear from the different schools, etc). Each site will have different protocols for allowing athletes at games. As of today, for home games, we will be allowing two fans per athlete. I will send further communication on this.
Transportation to games
As of today, CIF regulations will prevent us from driving together in the vans to away games. Therefore, parents will need to drive their athletes to games. If this presents difficulties, PLEASE let us know as soon as is possible. We can work something out.
Physicals
I will be communicating with each athlete individually about this, but all physicals and paperwork need to be completed before our first game (3/29) or else the boys may not play. Get this done!
Uniforms
I will be handing out uniforms starting at 1pm on Monday. We will begin practice once uniforms have been handed out.
COVID Testing
As a program, we will be COVID testing weekly, on Mondays (starting Monday, 3/29). Our testing will take place down the street at Neighborhood HealthCare, located at 425 N. Date St, right by the intersection of Date and Valley. Varsity will test at 1, JV will test at 1:20, in order for us to be finished by our scheduled practice time of 2pm. Athletes who are being tested for other sports (Football, etc) DO NOT NEED TO TEST TWICE. All families need to complete the COVID waiver I emailed out or and will hand out in practice.
Game Day Volunteers
We will likely need some volunteers to help out on game days with keeping the official score book, working admissions, etc. If you are interested, let me know and we can discuss ways you can best assist the program!
Without any further ado, here is the schedule for the week:
MON - practice 1-330pm (uniform distribution then practice)
TUE - off
WED - 6-730am practice
THU - 6-730am practice
FRI - off
That schedule should stay fairly consistent for the beginning of the season, then as the gym opens up more we will be able to get in for afternoon workouts.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. This season has been way too long in coming!
