ECHS BBall Family,
Tryouts are coming up! They begin this Saturday (JV from 1030 to 1230, and Varsity from 1 to 3) and continue on Monday (JV 5-630p and Varsity 630-8p).
I wanted to address a couple questions I have received re: tryouts.
1 - Do I need to go to both days of tryouts?
Yes! Both days of tryouts will consist of different drills and activities. We have a large number of boys trying out for a smaller number of spots this year, so it is important that the boys are there both Saturday AND Monday unless told otherwise by a coach (we will likely make some cuts after the first day).
2 - I am still participating in a fall sport (football or cross country). Do I need to be at tryouts?
If possible, yes! At the very least, please come to Saturday's tryout. We can discuss your situation individually at that time.
3 - What do I need to bring to tryouts?
Water, basketball shoes, and appropriate clothing (shorts and a t-shirt). It has been extremely dry, and should still be quite warm this Saturday, so bringing a refillable water bottle is imperative.
4 - I haven't gotten my physical completed and/or submitted my athletic paperwork. Can I try out?
No! ALL athletes need to have their physicals completed and their athletic paperwork filled in before they may try out. Here is the link to the appropriate website to submit everything.
5 - How many players will make each team?
TBD, but likely between 12 and 15 for both JV and Varsity. Seniors MUST try out for Varsity, as they cannot play JV. There will be team manager positions available for some athletes who don't make either team, but are still interested in being a part of the program.
If you have any other questions that aren't answered here, please let me know ASAP and I will do my best to get you an answer!
