Soccer families,
I have included a lot of important information in this email so please do read it all and if there are any questions or concerns please let me know.
Boys, congratulations on making the team. You all worked hard and deserve to be playing varsity soccer for the school. Coach Borden and I will be running practices at 6pm - 8pm each day this week apart from Wednesday when the JV team will be using the field for a game. Please be at the field 10 minutes early so that you are 100% ready to train at 6pm. If, for any reason, you can not attend or will be late please let myself and coach Borden or coach Jacobsen know by email.

We have new uniforms this year. On Tuesday we will be handing out the uniforms and you will also need to purchase socks from us to ensure consistency in appearance. See below for details.
Here is the full schedule for this week:
MON - Practice 6pm - 8pm
TUE - Practice 6pm - 8pm (Uniform and socks handout)
WED - JV game @ 6pm vs Classical. No varsity practice
THU - Practice 6pm - 8pm
FRI - Practice 6pm - 8pm
GPA REQUIREMENTS: I would like to remind everybody about the GPA requirements to play soccer. The next grading period finishes at the end of next week. If, at the end of the grading period, your GPA is below 2.0, you will NOT be allowed to play in soccer games until after Christmas. Please check ParentVue or StudentVue to see your current GPA. If you feel you are in danger of dropping below a 2.0 GPA, please spend as much time as possible over the next few days completing current and missing assignments. Also, communicate with your teachers and ask how you can best improve your grades.
DOCUMENTATION AND MEDICALS: You will NOT be able to play or practice this week if your documentation (including a medical) is not completed. The instructions for completing the documentation process are at the bottom of the email. If you are not sure if you have completed the documentation, please let me know. If you have not yet had a physical, it is my understanding that the CVS on El Norte has a Minute Clinic which takes walk-ins.
UNIFORMS AND SOCKS: We will hand out uniforms on Tuesday (Nov16) at practice. For obvious reasons we do not hand out socks. Boys / parents are required to purchase socks from us so that we ensure a consistent uniform. The socks are $15 for 2 pairs (black and white). The boys will need at least one pair of each color but you can buy additional pairs if you want. I will have the socks at practice on Tuesday.
GAME SCHEDULE: We currently have 18 games booked for varsity and will be playing our first game away at Army Navy on November 22nd. The full game schedule is available on the repu app or on the school athletic web pages (https://weareescondido.org/ boys-soccer/varsity/schedule)
DONATION: I respectfully request that you all make a donation to the program. The suggested donation amount is $100 but any amount, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. The program is free and the donation is voluntary but, as you all know, as a charter school, our funding is limited and for game fees, uniforms, balls, nets, pinnies, etc the cost of the program is significant. This year we have already purchased balls, uniforms, training vests, and have other items on our list of needs.
Thanks,
Coach Bentley (760-443-1396)
Coach Borden
