Hello ECHS Players and Parents,
Wow, how fast things can change! As of this weekend it seems very promising that we will be able to have some sort of girls soccer season. There are many details that are still up in the air and I will be in several meetings over the next few days to figure out exactly how we can pull this off. Here are the big ticket items I know so far:
-We can have competitions if our county reaches the case rate threshold of 14% by Tuesday, March 2, 2021 (All Subject to Change)
-Weekly Antigen or PCR tests for all participants and coaches may be required per CIF Rules
-Only a league schedule will be pursued
-Regular practices could start as early as Friday, February 26th and continue the following week Monday through Friday 4-6pm.
-Practices at this point would become mandatory as you will need 10 practices under your belt in order to participate in a game.
-All students will need to do the athletic clearance packets for ECHS before official practices begin
I know that this is a lot of new information and also not nearly enough. I will keep you all informed as soon as I get more details. We will most likely be having an informational Zoom session this Thursday @ 6pm. I will send the link out via email and post it on Rep U as well.
We will still be having our preseason conditioning practice this Wednesday @ECHS at 4:30-5:45pm. Friday's practice is tentatively planned for 4-6pm but may change if we do not meet the case threshold.
I am so excited to possibly get back to playing and please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
