April 2 - Game against La Jolla Country Day at Orange Glen (Arrive by 5:15)
ECHS Football,
It was such a joy to see our athletes playing, our coaches teaching, and our families cheering Friday night! As I watched our team leave after the game I could not help but get a little emotional. We are finally here... we finally got to have this privilege of playing football again and playing as one as a community! For that I am so grateful for you all! Thank you for all your support, prayers, patience, and love!
In regards to this weeks game, players will need to once again secure transportation to and from the game this Friday. It is critical that you arrive on time. Players need to arrive no later than 5:15 and have their football gear on as there are no locker rooms available for us due to COVID please come dressed to play.

This week we will be allowing fans! 4 guest per athlete and coach! Let's get loud this week!!!In closing this week... as a coach, I enthusiastically like to remind players to make good choices and to do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do. We want our players to make good choices at school, with their relationships, and under the “Friday Night Lights,” but there is so much more to “Doing the Right Thing” than meets the eye. Every morning we wake up with tons of decisions and choices ahead of us. These choices not only affect us, but our family at home and on the football field. Each day we have the choice to pursue goodness, a choice to be an impact on others, or to stay quiet.
Success in itself is a choice. I recently read this quote and it said, “I have never read about a successful person who did not go through trials, but they all made the choice to fight through, and never back down. One common denominator they all shared: the choice to not let failure get in the way of their pursuit of goodness. We will have failures in our lives, that is inevitable. But it is the choices we make, and not a single outcome, that make us who we are.”
When it comes to good choices or doing the right thing, we must remember that our minds and hearts can be easily distracted. So every morning, we have a choice to consciously decide if we are going to pursue goodness and excellence. It is our choice to work hard, or to live pure, or to lead with courage or to honor our team each day. It is a daily choice if not minute by minute choice. Truth be told, when we define success based on a series of choices we make and not on a single performance we find out what truly defines us.
Remember you can only control 3 things in life... your attitude, your effort, and what you choose to focus on.
