ECHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team Weekly Update
Monday, September 6 thru Friday, September 10
NO PRACTICE - Due to Labor Day…we will NOT be holding practice on Monday, 9/6.
Co-Captain - I couldn’t agree more with our Team Captain, Arlunya, when she asked me if Jordyn Hoit could be her Co-Captain. Both of them are wonderful young ladies and I’m proud to have them leading our team.
Special Event - This coming Friday, 9/10 some of our very own ECHS staff/teachers will be participating in a “round robin” to show their support to the girls tennis team. We are excited to have them play with the team as we kick off the start of our league season.
ECHS vs La Costa Canyon - What a week we had this past week! We had our 2nd scrimmage and though we lost 3 to 15 everyone played to the best of their ability and made La Costa Canyon earn every game they won. There were some close games with fun points being played out on every court. I was so proud of our team as they all displayed great tennis etiquette both on and off the court.
ECHS vs Valley Center - This coming Wednesday, 9/8 we will be having another HOME scrimmage match. Early release is set for 2:15 and they can leave campus by 2:30. Arrival time at KC is no later than 3:00pm to warm up. Our matches will start at 3:30pm. We will NOT have vans for our HOME matches, so everyone needs to coordinate their own rides to and from the match.
Sign-up Genius - Please check our teams Sign-up Genius to know who will be providing snacks/drinks for our upcoming scrimmage. If you haven’t already signed up to bring snack/drinks to one of our upcoming matches, please click on the link provided and see where we still need volunteers…https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090a4fa4ad29a64-snacks
Beach Day - We had our 2nd team bonding event this past Friday. We took two vans to Carlsbad Beach just south of the jetty at Tamarack. It was a fun and relaxing time. Some ran straight into the freezing cold ocean while others rested on the shore. Some of us learned how to play, “spike ball” so that was something new and fun! It was a very peaceful and enjoyable time!
